Welcome to W.B. Motor & Engineering Company.

We provide a comprehensive range of services to ensure that your vehicle is maintained to the highest standards. Our fully qualified friendly staff, are always willing to offer advice and help however large or small the problem.

We are stockists of Raleigh, Diamondback Activ and Probike Cycles & offer full repair facilities.

About us.

W.B. Motor & Engineering Company was established in 1922 by Francis and Oliver Walker (Brothers) of Normanton and was later passed, on their retirement to Edgar Walker. The garage was Normanton's original MOT Testing Station and offered repairs to both Cars and Motorcycles.

Since 1988 the business has been operated by John Zemlik, who had an existing motor trade business in Normanton. John is a qualified Motor Vehicle Engineer and has been in the Motor Trade since 1975 and started his motor vehicle technology studies in 1973.

John has a keen interest in mechanics in general, but has a passion for aeroplanes. He is a qualified Pilot and has restored both a 1941 North American Harvard and an ex RAf Chipmunk , which he displayed on the Airshow circuit.

Assisting John is Shaun Lythgoe, who is also a qualified Motor Vehicle Engineer, having joined the Company from school and serving his apprenticeship with us.

Shaun was born and educated in Normanton and still lives in the town.

Both John and Shaun are keen cyclists and regularly cycle to Leeds and York on their road bikes. They can also be found off roading on their Mountain Bikes.
